Trading Card Shop Display Cases: Custom Build for Slabs and Singles
A card shop sells a 4,000-dollar graded slab and a 3-dollar single from the same counter, and the display has to protect the first while letting a buyer flip through the second. That is two different systems, not one cabinet with more shelves.
We build trading card display cases and full card-shop fit-outs in our own factory: slotted slab walls, UV-filtered glazing, lockable showcases and dump bins sized to the inventory a shop actually carries.
Slabs and singles need separate systems
Graded slabs are rigid, uniform and expensive. They want vertical slots at a fixed pitch, so a buyer sees forty labels at eye level without handling anything. Raw singles are the opposite: hundreds of low-value items that must be browsable in seconds.
Slab wall. Aluminium or acrylic slots sized to standard 35-point holders, 5 to 7 rows high, with a lockable glass front on the section that holds anything above a set value.
Single bins. Angled dump bins at roughly 30 to 45 degrees, with dividers every 60 to 80 mm and a price rail on the front lip, so restocking is a sort, not a rebuild.
UV and heat do more damage than handling
Faded ink is the most common complaint in card retail, and the cause is usually the light rather than the customer. Halogen and cheap spot lamps push both heat and UV onto the surface.
Specify low-heat LED at 4000K, keep the strips outside the glazed volume, and put a UV filter on any glass that faces a window. Acrylic is lighter and cheaper but scratches; laminated low-iron glass costs more and stays clear for years.
The wall is the shop
In a card shop the wall is the main selling surface, so it should be built as a system: slatwall or a dedicated aluminium profile, with the same slot pitch everywhere. That way a section can be re-purposed from slabs to sealed product in an afternoon, and the shop can be re-merchandised without new joinery.
Security, counters and the play table
High-value cases need cam locks and a laminated front, and the counter should sit within sight of the door. Tournament tables are part of the same package: 76 cm height, 90 by 180 cm tops, and a cable route for stream setups.
What to send for an accurate quotation
Floor plan with wall lengths, how many slabs you display at once, the rough single-card SKU count, whether you need a play area, and the delivery city and country. With those five a factory can propose a module layout instead of a catalogue page.
Send your floor plan or a sketch and we will return a free 3D design and a quotation. We manufacture in our own factory and ship DDP, so the approved price includes delivery and duties to your door.
