Nail Bar Counters & Polish Walls: Custom Manufacturing for Nail Salons

Start from the armrest, not the worktop

A manicure station works when the client's forearm sits level with the technician's hands. Set the worktop at 730 to 750 mm, allow 600 mm of clear depth in front of the technician, and build the padded armrest into the top with a 20 to 30 mm rise so a client can stay seated through a full set. Leave 900 mm between stations so two clients never share an arm's width of space.

Make the polish wall do the selling

Colour choice is the slowest part of a visit, so hang the polish where the client can see it from the chair. Grade the rows from light to dark, keep each bottle's face forward, and reserve a shelf for a colour ring or a seasonal set. Use a pull-out rack for the shades you actually sell and keep back-up stock in a drawer, so the wall reads as a menu rather than as storage.

Detail the station for dust and ventilation

Nail dust and vapours settle everywhere, so specify a smooth wipe-clean worktop, coved joints where the top meets the panel, and a plenum or an extract point at bench level rather than at the ceiling. Put the sockets and the lamp cable in a service void, keep one spare circuit per two stations, and choose a top that will not stain from acetone.

Plan for the queue, the till and the drying shelf

Give each client a drying shelf within reach, keep the reception counter in sight of every station, and put the till where a client pays without crossing a technician's working zone. If a pedicure area sits behind, separate it with a low screen so neither client feels watched.

Order the run as a manufactured unit

A nail bar counter manufacturer will quote from your floor plan and the number of stations, and should return a shop drawing with station width, armrest position, cable routes and lamp positions before production starts. Ask what the price includes — crating, freight and duty — so you compare landed cost rather than the invoice value.
