Slatwall Panels and Display Systems: Custom Manufacturing From the Factory
Most slatwall problems are not visible on day one. They show up six months later, when the hooks have pulled the grooves open, the panel has bowed away from the wall, and the shop is trying to hide the gap with a shelf.
We manufacture slatwall panels, aluminium groove inserts, slatwall gondolas and the full accessory range in our own factory, so the groove pitch, the panel thickness and the load rating are specified to what you will actually hang rather than copied from a stock item.
Groove pitch decides everything that follows
Slatwall is a spacing standard, not a board. Grooves run at 100 mm or 150 mm centres, and that number has to match the depth of your shelves, hooks and sign holders before anything is cut. A 100 mm pitch gives you finer height adjustment for small product and jewellery; 150 mm suits heavier shelves and bulkier merchandise. Mixing the two on one wall looks like a mistake and makes every future accessory order complicated.
The core is where cheap panels fail
A 15 mm MDF panel with a groove cut into the back is a hinge waiting to happen. We use 18 mm moisture-resistant MDF with an aluminium or PVC insert set into each groove, so a hook carrying 15 kg loads the insert rather than the board. For wet areas and shopfronts we quote PVC slatwall, which will not swell when the mop goes past it. Where the panel spans a stud that is not where the drawing said, we cut a packer rather than bend the board.
Finishes that survive a shop floor
The finish is the part customers see and the part that gets damaged first. We supply painted, melamine-faced and veneered panels, and we keep black slatwall and white slatwall in stock because those two cover most retail schemes. Painted panels get a light-fast lacquer if the wall faces a window, and every panel edge is capped, because an open MDF edge in a shop reads as unfinished.
Slatwall, gondola or both
Slatwall is wall-based display: it uses the perimeter and frees the floor. A slatwall gondola gives you the same groove system on a freestanding island, which is what a mid-floor run needs. We build both, and we will tell you when a plain gondola run is cheaper than a slatwall island of the same capacity.
Ordering from the factory
Send the wall elevations or a measured sketch, the products to be hung with their weights, the groove pitch you want and the delivery city, and we return a 3D layout, a panel cutting schedule and a fixed quotation within two working days. Production takes 25 to 35 days, and we quote DDP so freight, duty and clearance sit inside one price rather than arriving as a second invoice at the port.
Send us four things and the quotation comes back faster: wall lengths and heights, the groove pitch, the finish or colour reference, and your opening date.
