Gym Display Shelving and Reception Counters: Custom Factory Build

A gym sells two things at the front desk: membership and supplements. Most fit-outs treat that area as an afterthought, bolt a chipboard counter to the wall, and then discover that the counter is the only place where a member stands still long enough to be sold to.

We build reception counters, supplement shelving and changing-room joinery for fitness studios in our own factory, so the counter height, the cable route and the stock lock-up are drawings we control.

The counter is the control point

A gym counter has to do four jobs at once: check in, take payment, hold a card printer and a screen, and hide the mess. We build a 1100 mm transaction top with a 300 mm raised section for the monitor, a lockable drawer bank on the staff side, and a cable channel that runs to a floor box so nothing loops over the counter.

Supplement shelving that faces the queue

Supplements are bought on impulse while waiting. We set the retail wall on the member's side of the queue, at 350 mm shelf pitch, with a 250 mm deep tray for tubs and a glass riser for smaller items. The bottom 400 mm stays closed as stock, which keeps the wall from looking empty on a Monday.

Wearables and merchandise

Apparel needs a different rhythm: a 1200 mm hang rail, a folded-stack shelf at 400 mm, and a mirror at the end of the run. We keep the apparel zone on a separate electrical circuit so the display lighting can be switched off when the studio closes while the counter stays live.

Materials that survive the room

A gym is a wet, salty, high-traffic room. We specify moisture-resistant board with a sealed edge, stainless or powder-coated steel legs, and a counter face in compact laminate rather than melamine, because a laminate edge lifts within a year next to a water fountain.

Send the floor plan or a measured sketch, the length of the counter run and the number of retail walls, and we return a 3D layout, a finish board and a fixed quotation within two working days. Production takes 25 to 35 days, and we quote DDP so freight, duty and clearance sit inside one price.
