Toy Store Display Fixtures: Custom Shelving From a Factory
Toy retail has a problem that jewellery retail does not: the buyer is often one metre tall and cannot see the top two shelves. Most toy shops are still fitted with generic shelving borrowed from an office supplier, so the best stock sits at adult eye level and the floor turns into a corridor.
We manufacture the fixtures ourselves, which means every shelf height, bin depth and edge radius is a drawing we control before production starts.
Sightlines that work at two heights
Shelf spacing should let a child reach the first three tiers while an adult still sees the whole range from the aisle. We usually set bay heights at 300 mm, 350 mm and 400 mm, then keep the top level for boxed stock that staff hand down. This single decision changes how long a family stays in the store.
Play tables instead of more shelving
A toy store needs floor area where a product can be touched. We build low play tables at 500 mm to 550 mm with a raised lip, a wipe-clean laminate top and a storage drawer underneath. Parents sit, children test, and the table doubles as a display plinth during the week.
Security without covering everything in glass
Lockable glass is expensive and kills the shopping experience. A better pattern is open bins for low-value items, a lockable counter cabinet for collectibles, and slatwall behind the till for high-theft lines. We specify tempered glass only where the product justifies it.
Modular bays for seasonal ranges
Toy ranges change faster than any other retail category. We design bays on a 25 mm pitch so shelves, hooks and bins can move without new drilling, and we keep the uprights common across the store so a Christmas aisle can be built from the same parts as the everyday aisle.
Ordering from the factory
Production starts from your plan, not from a catalogue. Send the floor plan or a hand sketch with dimensions, the number of bays and your opening date. We return a 3D layout, a sample finish board and a fixed quotation, usually within two working days. Standard lead time is 25 to 35 days plus shipping, and we quote DDP so freight, duty and clearance are inside the price you approve.
Send us four things and the quotation comes back faster: the product categories and how many bays each needs, the store size or drawing, the country and city for delivery, and your opening date.
