In a beauty or pharmacy store the counter is the whole sales pitch. If the display stand hides the product or the checkout feels cramped, the customer buys the cheaper shelf option.

Light the stand, not the room

Illuminated cosmetic display stands put the product inside the light. Specify LED panels at 4000 K for even colour on skin tones, a driver hidden in the plinth, and heat-free panels so glass or acrylic fronts never fog. A stand that only lights the base wastes the top tiers.

Choose the counter depth by traffic

Wall units for the slow movers

Wall-mounted display units carry the long tail: accessories, samples and clearance. Keep the top at 1600–1800 mm so staff can reach, with a 300 mm shelf pitch for small SKUs. Order them in the same finish as the counter so the wall reads as one system.

Match the finish to the brand

Lacquered MDF, brushed aluminium or acrylic faces each hold up differently in a high-touch store. Ask for a sample panel in the exact brand colour before production, because small-batch colour shades vary more than buyers expect.

Leave the aisle wide enough for two shoppers

An island stand tempts buyers to stop in the middle of the walkway, so plan the layout before the units are built. A 1200 mm clear aisle either side of an island keeps a trolley and a browsing customer apart, and a 900 mm stand footprint fits most pharmacy floor grids without blocking the till queue.
